The Institute of Osteopathy Our longstanding partner, the Institute of Osteopathy (iO), represents the largest osteopathic association in the United Kingdom and Europe. It brings together the majority of osteopaths practicing in the UK. Osteopathy, which originated in the United States in 1874, arrived in Europe in 1913, in the United Kingdom, with the founding of the British Osteopathic Association (BOA), which changed its name in 2014 to become the iO.

Founded in 1976, is the oldest American academy of osteopathic sports medicine. The privileged relationship between AFABO and AOASM were built very "naturally", following meetings and exchanges between the driving forces and members of the two associations, and thanks to the professional and friendly relationships forged over the years on both sides of the Atlantic.
